July 2, 2010, Newsletter Issue #297: FinAid - Scholarship Scams

Tip of the Week

The urgent need for scholarships is an open field for hacks and scams. The most basic rule is that if a trust or a grant is asking money from you (for example - in order to enroll you) - itīs probably a scam. You shouldnīt waste your money on fee-based scholarship matching services. You wonīt get any better information than you can get from the free services available on the Web.
