December 14, 2007, Newsletter Issue #166: Taping Lectures

Tip of the Week

Taping a lecture is a great idea for just about anyone. Some of us donīt write as fast as the lecturer speaks. Others have to "understand" before writing. Some professors start one idea and finish up with another. Ask your professorīs permission first and record lectures, unless your college has video-recording. Listening (or watching, if youīre lucky enough) to the lecture later, after hearing it in class, is helpful for general understanding of ideas, as well as in writing your notes.
