How can we relieve the kids of carrying home so many books?

Lighten the backpacks

Parents, are you concerned about all the weight your student is carrying? Begin a campaign (with PTA and the principal or school board) to get classroom sets of books for each teacher at your child's school. Students can take home textbooks at the beginning of the year and will always have their books at home to do homework!
