June 27, 2008, Newsletter Issue #194: Getting a Bibliographic List

Tip of the Week

In social sciences, articles that are more than 5-6 years old are good only if you want research of that time period. That means that you have to get the most up-to-date articles for your research. Academic Journals should be your primary resource for research.
Methods:
1. Consult your teacher.
2. Search in the library, just look at articles from recent volumes.
3. There are several on-line databases, available for cash - Proquest direct and Muse are options.
4. Search the net: If you have names of researchers in this field, check in the search engines their latest publications.
